Awakening is the moment we become completely human, no longer suffering needlessly and no longer fighting the suffering we must do-and knowing the difference.

Knowing who you are is not a mystical thing but a matter of experience, acceptance, honesty, and compassion. It is knowing you are small and selfish, greedy and angry, great, creative, tenderhearted and caring.

Being completely human means we act with love-not because we have learned it from a book, but because our true nature is love.

To be human is to lose our way and find it again. The human lineage is the lineage of falling down and getting up again.

Trees do not have any anxiety because they are rooted and in one place. People have anxiety because they move around.

Follow what is right and you will be fortunate. Do not follow what is right and you will be unfortunate. The results are only shadows and echoes of our actions.

If you would contract, you must first expand.

If you would weaken, you must first strengthen.

If you would tear down, you must first build up.

If you would take, you must first give.

This is called the dawn of intelligence.

The avarice of man is like a snake trying to swallow an elephant.

Think twice... then say nothing.

When there is a feast of mere words, there is bound to be a famine of intelligence.

Alas.... four horses cannot overtake the tongue, or the runaway mind.

Out of the emptiness God has made this world, it exists in the heart of God alone. To know our place we must again become as nothing, and then what is holy will move through us and illuminate all we do.

To see through fame and wealth is to gain a little rest; to see through life and death is to gain a big rest.

He who has reached the stage of thought is silent.

He who has attained perfect knowledge is also silent.

He who uses silence in lieu of speech really does speak.

He who for knowledge substitutes blankness of mind really does know.

There is no guilt greater than to sanction unbridled ambition. No calamity greater than to be dissatisfied with one's lot. No fault greater than the wish to wish continually of receiving.

You do not get what you want in the world, but you do get what you contemplate.

All of us are immersed in the one universal mind.

Desire is the force behind all things; it is the moving principal of the universe.

There is a divine solution. It is God in action.

We have to discover the timeless awareness beyond birth and death.

Nirvana is a deep sea of wisdom; the material universe is but a whirling chaos.

Wisdom is not information, but an abiding prescence, an intuitive, sensing opening of the body and heart

In wisdom the body of fear drops away and our heart comes to rest.

Our sacred longing is to return to where we are now, and know that place for the first time.

You were never born; you will never die; water wets you not; fire burns you not; swords pierce you not; and winds blow you not away.

Thinking too well of people often allows them to behave better than they otherwise would.

Mindfulness and compassion are genuinely undertaken one step at a time, one person, one moment.

As we accept the stream of life, enlightenment and grace arise naturally.

Compassion is most real in the particulars, in our response to the immediacy of this moment of now.

If you wish to know the truth, only cease to cherish opinions.

That which fills the universe I regard as my body, and that which directs the universe I consider as my divine nature.

The foolish not thinking, become wise.

The great end of learning is nothing else but to seek for the lost mind.

It is with the heart that one sees rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Live in daytight compartments.

Every day is a new life to a wise man.

Those who keep the peace of their inner selves in the midst of the tumult of the modern city are immune from nervous disease.

A man is what he thinks about all day long.

All that we possess and are is a gift given us by the wholeness from which we come and to which we return.

There is no fear or negation of any kind in true thinking.

Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand.

Silence is golden, but our eyes can't see.

What truly is within will be manifested without.

Everything in the past died yesterday; everything in the future was born today.

Mind has no colour, it is not long or short; it does not vanish or appear; it is free from purity and impurity alike; and its duration is eternal. It is utter stillness. Such then is the form of our original mind, which is also our original body.

When every pain, every separation, is allowed to exist in fullness, the light it is made of begins to emerge. It is the radiance of something freshly watered, the shine of what is, which of course is God.

The self is not something that is attained, but something that appears when we give up trying to attain.

The sense of divine pleasure, which is very close to the ambiguous play of childhood, is within you right now.

We show our truest self when we allow ourselves to be filled with who we are-pain, difficulty, and all.

Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.

Become an astute observer, judge less and listen more. Take time to open your mind to the fascinating mystery and uncertainty that we all experience.

Practice letting go of always naming and labeling. Nothing in this universe is what it is named.

Where are you on the continum between desire and allowing?

Accept the duality of this material world while still remaining in constant contact with the oneness of the eternal within you.

Just move through life freely, peacefully, playfully, and without judgements or complaints.

When it is time to leave your body, you do so, reclaiming your place in the pure mystery of oneness.

Accomplish much by trying less.

When you notice an opportunity to defend or explain yourself-choose not to. Don't get caught up with being right or wrong. Just let it go and let it be.

When action is pure and selfless, everything settles into its own perfect place.

We must replace personal desires with the question; How may I serve?

The source of creation is not interested in material possessions or status. It will provide whatever is needed-it will guide, motivate, and influence you and everyone else.

Remind yourself daily that there is no way to happiness; Rather, happiness is the way.

Wisdom is knowing I am nothing, love is knowing I am everything, and between the two my life moves.

Bring happiness to every encounter in life, instead of expecting external events to bring joy. Feel gratitude and awe for what is.

Everything I need now is here.

Hold on to the centre, man was made to sit quietly and find the truth within.

Just sit there right now don't do a thing just rest. For your separation from God, from love, is the hardest work in this world.

Serve the needs of others, and all your own needs will be fulfilled. Through selfless action, fulfillment is attained.
